Basic Life Support with Automated External Defibrillator
In Europe, every hour 40 people die victims of sudden cardiac arrest because of ventricular fibrillation before they reach the hospital, thus making defibrillation the only effective treatment when combined with basic live support maneuvers, and other procedures for correct approach to these victims. The existence of an AED in public places is an unquestionable asset for one of these situations. However, only if the trust levels are high can we give an effective response. Efficiency that can only be acquired with education and training.
This course aims to enable AED operationals through training in Basic Life Support with AED, as well as the correct use of an AED to increase the efficiency of first aid until the arrival of differentiated aid.
Who should attend?
Thiscourse is suitable for all those who want to deepen their knowledge of first aid, or that are part of an emergency response team. It is not necessary any previous knowledge to participate in this course.
What will you learn?
Students will learn to identify and give the correct approach to a victim of cardiac arrest, as well as basic life support maneuvers and skills required to operate an AED to increase the efficiency of aid until the arrival of differentiated aid.
Program content
- Chain of Survival;
- Basic Life Support;
- Basic Life Support with defibrillation;
- Ventilation of Airway;
- Clearance of Airway;
- Special situations with AED;
- Practical Simulations.
Duration
The course BLS-AED lasts for sseven hours, in attendance.
Evaluation
The pratical evaluation is carried out continuously, with three stages of evaluation in different scenarios .
Final approval is only achieved by an higher score than or equal to 10 points in at least two stages of the evaluation.
The final classification is obtained by the arithmetic mean of the two best assessment records.
Certification
For the trainees who complete the course successfully, the Amo Vida issues a Vocational Certificate in accordance with the National Program of AED (Decree Law 188/2009).
For the trainees integrated into groups for the integration of the National Program of AED, the Amo Vida releases an AED Operating Card (Decree Law 188/2009).
